I didn't have the opportunity to find out all of this useful information last year as the competition wasn't launched until well after this date (boy, would it have been useful!)
Speakers included Adam Frost (Chelsea Gold Medal winner and BBC Gardeners World Live Gold and Best in Show), Jo Thompson (Cheslea Silver Guilt Medal winner for her Caravn Club garden), both of whom were very insightful and amazing to listen to, and Bob Sweet who is the head of Judging and Assessing at the RHS.
The tips about early sourcing of plants, contractors and PR made me giggle - last time we only had 24 days lead-in from finding out we had won the competition to starting the build!!
I also bumped into some old friends from BBC Gardeners World - Graeme Thirde, Andy Wayro, Lucinda Costello, Bob Sweet and Gemma Lake, and made some new contacts at the Tatton Flower Show and Malvern.
So, after all that information, do I fancy the hard days, sleepless nights, lots of travelling, being very skint, wet, tired, cold and muddy by doing another show garden for 2014...Oh Yes please!!! I think I have the show garden bug!
