Started in 1919, the aerial images are from all parts of the country and form an excellent resource for families researching their heritage, for schools carrying out historic projects and for geographers (like me!) who love to explore images from the air. There is even a section of unknowns, just waiting for people to identify their location.
Be warned! The website becomes addictive as you realise you can see a bird's eye view of your grandma's house, tag the streets that you played in as a kid and discover your neighbourhood before the rise of the supermarkets and motorways!
Visit the collection at www.britainfromabove.org.uk and if you are visiting the show, come and see us on stand GR48 infront of the Floral Marquee.
