Gardens can be difficult to negotiate with a pram often containing steps, gravel paths or steep slopes and whilst the gardener in me doesn't want to see this change, the mum in me longs to visit new gardens and explore with the same wonder that my boys have. And (apart from the fabulous planting and design) thats another reason why I love Trentham Gardens so much.
The paths are wide, the slopes shallow, the steps few and far between. There is space to run, play, hide, picnic, shelter from the rain, buy food, change nappies, drive little cars, build sandcastles, get lost in a maze, take a trip on a boat and come back by train...each new visit provides a totally new set of options and as a gardening mum I say thank you and a great big thumbs up to the designers for making it such a brilliant place to take my kids.
It may seem a bit selfish, but if I can find a fabulous garden that combines enjoyment for my children with feeding my passion for plants and design, then I'm a happy gardening mum! And we didint even make it to the Monkey
